Our International GCSE family offers world-class qualifications for UK and international students.

Edexcel International GCSEs are studied in over 55 countries worldwide and at over 350 independent schools in the UK. Available in more than 40 subjects, they are equivalent, grade for grade, to UK GCSEs.

We’ve recently released our new suite of International GCSE (9–1) qualifications. Please ensure that you are actively managing the transition to the new specifications as final assessments for the previous specification, for most subjects, will be in June 2018, and January 2019 for some subjects.

Subject areas

International GCSEs are currently available in around 40 subjects (some subjects are available to international centres only). Pearson Edexcel International GCSEs are being revised according to the following timetable:

1.First teaching 2016, first awards in 2018 (UK and international schools): English Language A, English Language B, English Literature, Mathematics A, Mathematics B.

2.First teaching 2017, first awards 2019 (UK and international schools): Biology, Business Studies, Chemistry, Chinese, Double Award Science, Economics, English as a Second Language, French, Further Pure Mathematics, Geography, German, History, Human Biology, ICT, Physics, Religious Studies, Single Award Combined Science, Spanish.

3.First teaching 2017, first awards 2019 (international schools only): Art and Design, Bangladesh Studies, Bengali, Commerce, Computer Science, Global Citizenship, Greek 1st Language, Islamiyat, Pakistan Studies, Sinhala, Swahili, Tamil.
